All files in Connect inherit their permissions from their parent folder. On top of these, additional file permissions can be added.
File and folder permissions can only be managed in Trimble Connect for Browser. The permissions applied in the Browser application will be enforced in all other Trimble Connect applications.
Multiple user groups can work on one project in Trimble Connect for Browser. With file permissions, the visibility of files can be restricted based on user groups or individual user accounts.
Full Access
People can open, edit, delete, and move the file.
Read Only Access
People can see, open, and download the file.
Note: File-level permissions are applied on top of permissions inherited from the parent folder. They are additive by nature, so you can not remove permissions on the file level - thus the No Access permission level is not available here.
Giving Access to Specific Users or Groups
Permissions applied to users or groups are applied on top of the permission inherited from the parent folder.
Applying Permissions to Groups that Contain the Same User(s)
If a user is in more than one group, the least restrictive setting is applied to the user - this applies to both inherited and direct file permissions.
Example: The Contractor Group has full access to a file, while the Architect Group has Read Only Access; If a user is in both groups, they will have Full Access to the file.
